Save Lake Varese – a Cooperation with the Rachel Carson Center

This paper is a final project of a Master student in anthropology named Celina Ram, who was an alumni of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society´s  (RCC) certificate program. The Rachel Carson Center is an international, interdisciplinary center for research and education in the environmental humanities and social sciences. This nonprofit institution based in Munich is a joint initiative of Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität with the generous support of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The article is a product of the collaboration of Celina Ram with the Social Promotion Association (APS) Save Lake Varese and its ecological, socio-political and economic-aesthetic pursuit to clean Lake Varese in northern Italy.
The text aims to show why the associations engagement is so important and benefits the educational work that the association pursues.
The wider audience is mainly the Italian society around the lake. But of course it is also written  for almost everyone who shows interest in the subject of water purification in the Italian region of Varese.
This work was supervised by Staff member of the RCC Dr. Gesa Lüdecke and graded with an 1,3.
